How to create System partition image in Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 provides a very small and simple utility which is useful to recover our windows when it is crashed or infected by some virus. So to keep our installation safe we can create a backup of our System Drive( C: Drive) on other partition or on USB hard Disk.

Steps to create Windows Recovery Disk on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are as follows.

Step 1. Goto  Control Panel in Windows 8/8.1.

Step 2. Choose  File History from Control Panel.

Step 3. Now from the File History window choose System Image Backup from the left bottom corner of the windows.

Step 4. Now wait for some time while it checks for the windows installation drive.

Step 5. Choose the drive from On a hard disk menu if you want to take backup of your C Drive to another drive of your computer. If you want to make DVD of your system drive then choose One or more DVDs and you need 4 to 5 DVDs to make backup of your windows 8 or windows 8.1 system drive backup. You can also create your system image on a network drive by choosing On a network location.

I recommend you to save your drive backup On a hard disk because it will take less time and later you can copy that image anywhere.

Step 6.  Now click on Next button and in next windows the System Reserved partition and System partition are already selected. Don't change anything and click on Next button.

Step 7. Now click on Start Backup button from the next window.

Step 8. Now wait for sometime to complete the backup of your System drive on your PC.

After 20 to 30 mins the backup of the system drive will be created on your PC and then later you can restore the backup anytime when your windows crashes, corrupted or infected by any virus.
